Baby's Nursery Progress

Dana is so, so incredibly wonderful! He has been committed beyond compare to make this house of ours a home. He has worked nearly every weekend doing SOMETHING on this house since we moved in 1 1/2 years ago. We've had lots of support and amazing help from Dana's Brother and Dad as well, making it go so much quicker. One of our main goals was to make a third bedroom out of a room upstairs that the previous owners used as a laundry room. It is a room about the same size as Amelia's, however, it did not have a closet. But before we could even consider working on that room we had to plumb the basement laundry room for both washer and set it up for a dryer. But before we could do that we had to finish the basement bathroom... well... you get the domino effect that it's been. The bathroom was completed along with my new beautiful office in November and the new laundry room was ready for the washer and dryer on January 1st. SO that meant we were able to move the washer and dryer out of the soon to be nursery! YIPPEEE!!! Since then, Dana has been scraping linolium off the floor (we think the original stuff put in around 1965) and he is in the process of making a closet, complete with custom shelving. It is looking so wonderful! I'm getting so excited!! The 1st photo represents the very beginning of the closet and today he just finished taping and it looks so great! He'll have a little more mudding to do and sanding, but I'm so happy with how the closet turned out, no surprise with a talented man behind the work!! After completing the closet, we'll be able to texture the room, finish tearing out the old flooring, then paint and get the carpet installed! Then's is the super fun part of setting up the crib, organizing the closet with all those cute adorable baby things and be set for baby to come!
